"I Have This Dream"
MLK as "the O.C." dialogue?

jimnaseum (jimnaseum), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 17:52 (twenty years ago)

No problem! 2007 is still 579 years away! (Bahrain uses the Islamic calendar)

StanM (StanM), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 17:58 (twenty years ago)

Michael Jackson in Bahrain

STRAIGHT FERN GULLY (jaxon), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 18:02 (twenty years ago)

I'm really hoping for an Arab tinge to this new album, but I guess I shouldn't be too hopeful.

Rodney Jerkins sighted boarding an AirArabia flight bound for Dubai?

M. Biondi (M. Biondi), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 18:24 (twenty years ago)

Is he going to include "What More Can I Give?"

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 18:51 (twenty years ago)

I just have to say that Michael Jackson's near bankruptcy makes me feel a lot better about the sorry mishandling of my own finances.

NoTimeBeforeTime (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 18:58 (twenty years ago)

Two words: Robot jockeys.

J Arthur Rank (Quin Tillian), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 19:11 (twenty years ago)

x-post Yeah, except for the part where he's chillin' in a palace in
Bahrain making records and we're eating cold Spaghetti-Os working in office parks.

He could license it to Sublime Frequencies in the USA.

Myke. (Myke Weiskopf), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 21:40 (twenty years ago)

I have to say, once again, that traditional Gulf rhythms are fantastic, and largely unexposed in the west. I could easily see them being worked into a modern western pop context (not that I'd probably like the end result--I'm not even crazy about a lot of the Arab pop that works with them, though some of it is great)--but it's a thought).

I can imagine Chris Tucker will resurface in the videos again as the fish out of water looking for some "Musleem bootay!" in the Arab world.

But he's still living in Bahrain, from the sounds of the article, so there is still hope.

Rockist_Scientist (RSLaRue), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 12:23 (nineteen years ago)

Jackson, 48, has now formed a new company, the Michael Jackson Company

Imaginative, too.
