looking for Vernon Gibbs

I'm trying to track down music journalist Vernon Gibbs who used to write for the Voice, Black Music, Essence, etc. back in the '70s and '80s. Last anyone heard, he was in north jersey somewhere, maybe Union City. I've already tried asking Bob Christgau, Carol Cooper and Harry Allen to no avail.
