is this by chance a girls on top long player.....

sounds like fun!

baxter wingnut, Sunday, 24 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You can't have too many bootleg blends of Missy or Kylie or Eminem. I fancy this a lot.

Martin Skidmore, Sunday, 24 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

THIS bootleg of Forgot About Bombscare was performed live by 2 Bad Mice on decks.

nick.k, Monday, 25 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

go on, tell us what the last track is. please.

Wyndham Earl, Tuesday, 26 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

(wyndham: it's the grange hill one)

Jeff W, Wednesday, 27 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

oh my god. I found it in NYC, at Kim's in the East Village. I've OD'd on it already, my first night owning it. hell yeah

M Matos, Sunday, 31 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Well, it doesn't have my brand new all-time favorite bootleg: Conway's "Lisa's Got Hives." It's Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopez's "Block Party" avec the Hives' "Hate to Say I Told You." Now that I know what that whole long-promised rock-rap fusion thing is supposed to sound like, there's even more of a reason for the practioners of sports metal to fuck off.

Michaael Daddino, Sunday, 31 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"Lisa's Got Hives" is the most kickass record I've heard in ages! Too bad it makes Itunes crash every time I play it. It's worth it, though.

one year passes...
right. everyone says the whole mash-up ting is way over and all
but where we to compile a volume 2 of this, what would be on it ?

there's that rip-roaring 'ray of gob' madonna/sex pistols one, and
then there's loads of go home productions stuff.

what
say
you
?

piscesboy, Thursday, 8 May 2003 12:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Go Home Productions owns Volume 2, if only for "Making Plants For Vinyl" and "Ray of Gob." Over/not over is another conversation but it's fascinating that the big names from the last 2 years (Hellraiser, Frenchbloke) have gone quiet. I haven't heard about any of them signing with big labels, but maybe somebody here knows more. Frenchbloke did a boot of "Fascination" but it's a snooze.

SFJ (SFJ), Thursday, 8 May 2003 12:46 (twenty-three years ago)

"Making Plans For Vinyl," that is. Though my LPs could totally use some photosynthesis action.

SFJ (SFJ), Thursday, 8 May 2003 12:48 (twenty-three years ago)

mmmm. on the big name front erol (ex kurtis rush)
gave it up as a bad job pretty much as soon as it
all kicked off and look where he is now, richard x's
album is out soon, soulwax are re-launching themselves in
their original rock band form...
it's been a bit of springboard for bigger things.

piscesboy, Thursday, 8 May 2003 13:00 (twenty-three years ago)

the grapevine speculates that Freelance Hellraiser is producing the next Richard Ashcroft album but i dont think thats true and his input will be limited to just a few ideas and stuff, maybe in the same way the Blur/Fatboy Slim thing was proposed...

Frenchbloke retains close links with Optimo - last thing i heard by him was the 'Frenchisms' mixes that pitted several acapellas over various Boards Of Canada tracks ('Sexual Healing' over 'Turquoise Hexagon Sun' etc.)

anyway for a further compilation i strongly recommend this

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 8 May 2003 13:23 (twenty-three years ago)

i mean, this

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 8 May 2003 13:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Lance Lockarm should be on every bootleg comp.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 8 May 2003 13:27 (twenty-three years ago)

no Eminem allowed

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 8 May 2003 13:34 (twenty-three years ago)

speaking of go home productions' "ray of gob," who else has done good video mashups?

fact checking cuz, Thursday, 8 May 2003 13:37 (twenty-three years ago)

eclectic method have done a few, cartel communique really have that sown up tho - going back to the stuff they did with Osymyso

i downloaded a video for 'A Stroke Of genieus' recently which as you would expect just cuts between the two videos at the right moments...and i think there's a funny bit where along with the names displayed for each member of the Strokes in the 'hard to explain' video there's also one for Christina when she's lying on the beach,,,this video was aired on Q Tv a lot a while back i think

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 8 May 2003 13:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Q mag's tv channel has a top 10 *chart* of video mashes.
had them on the channel for more than a year now.
the really great one is a seamless beegees/shakira/britney
ting. the mash was done by ben liebrand. oldskool !

piscesboy, Thursday, 8 May 2003 15:07 (twenty-three years ago)

yeh i love that one

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 8 May 2003 16:23 (twenty-three years ago)

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 8 May 2003 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

MERCURY POISONING:

Queen rocks Japan!

Roman (Roman), Thursday, 8 May 2003 17:15 (twenty-three years ago)

there's already something called The Best of Boom Selector Vol. 2, and I like it more than the first. tracklist

this had nothing to do with Boom Selection incidentally (not sure if thats really worth pointing out) and i wonder if it was by the same mysterious person who did the first one and probably made a fair packet out of it - imagine having to pay royalties to both the bootleggers AND the poor old artists mercilessly ripped off in the first place, there'd be nothing left - muahahah...

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 8 May 2003 19:37 (twenty-three years ago)

I doubt it was put together by the same people. the same typeface etc. only black-on-white rather than white-on-black (and a glossy, heavy tray card rather than simple glossy foldover), and a bluebacked CD-R rather than a professional-quality manufactured disc.

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 8 May 2003 21:27 (twenty-three years ago)

who does the tweet stalker mix one? thats my current favourite

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 8 May 2003 21:39 (twenty-three years ago)

The best Go Home Productions ones for me are "Sexual High" and "The Weather Episode".
