(Some kind of confectionery theme is recommended though not essential)

Does Donovan count? I love Donovan.

Obviously the only answer is Love Makes The World Go Round by The Powerpuff Girls. Apologies for starting this thread.

I'll second Donovan - he's criminally underrated by critics who wouldn't recognise a decent tune if it painted itself purple and danced naked on a harpsichord singing "decent tunes are here again."

I was trying to find the Stephanie De Sykes song "Picture Book" that Robin raved about on Audiogalaxy (still no luck), and I stumbled upon her "Born with a Smile on My Face", the most militantly upbeat song I have ever heard. It's scary!

"Born with a smile on my face/the whole of my life's been a pantomime/born with the need to embrace/the life of the clown telling rhymes." And she sounds just thrilled about it!

I can't stand "Born With A Smile On My Face". Great songs I didn't mention in *that* piece, however, include the Love Affair's "Rainbow Valley" and "Temma Harbour" by Mary Hopkin.

Graham, do the songs have to be about oral sex? Because all of the ones you named in your original question seem to be.

I vote the final affirmative for Donavan - but I wouldn't call his music "Ridiculously Happy" - except for "I Love my Shirt" - which was an excellent song

Donavan = Donovan

I mistyped his name. How embarassing.

"There Is A Mountain" isn't so much ridiculously happy as plain ridiculous.
