Why is there no 808 State box set yet

Seriously. Between all the variations between ZZT and Tommy Boy releases and overlapping songs on multiple albums and miscellaneous confusion, they need to just put everything together on a bunch of discs and throw it in a pretty box. Please?

It's not something I've ever been really desperate for but would be nice to get things like their remix of Jon Hassell's 'Voiceprint' on a collected CD plus 'Pacific 909' and a few other rarities. Weirdly, there aren't many good remixes of THEM themselves - only Dillinja's take on 'Azura' springs to mind. Ferry Corsten remixed/covered 'Cubik' on his last album and of course it sounds shit.

Remixing "Cubik" makes the Baby Jesus cry (except for the Gorgeous-era version).

Does anyone have "Pacific Break" on mp3 (from the Tommy Boy 12")???

Cf., their Web site: all the albums are being reissued as double-disc sets in the coming year. There was much wringing of hands on the message boards about what to include. Idiotically, nobody chose the apparently substantial swath of demos that exist, opting instead for the same damn remixes included on all the same damn CD singles.

AFX's "Flow Coma" remix is pretty tasty.

I rather liked Erik Kupper's remixes of "Ooops" on the U.S. CD single. And their own remixes of their material are aces, but I assume you aren't referring to those.

I've actually not been a fan of their work for other people. I liked Graham Massey's production for Bjork and his Art of Noise remix (
"Legs"), but 808 never frequently blew me away as remixers.
