I know only one Cure single, and that's "Fridays I'm in Love", so I'm gonna vote for that.

Hi, we like "Love Cats", "Inbetween days" and "Close to me" (both versions) but have decided to vote "A Forest" and hope you do too.

"Killing An Arab" was a double A-side with "10:15 Saturday Night". You can't have t'one without t'other.

I'd take the Catch 12" with those gorgeous, gorgeous b sides. "Breathe" is the kind of thing global communications ended up doing 7 years later.

Wonderfull twee pop and great 80s synthpop all in one song. Perfect!

Well, the Small Wonder release is the one I own. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get hold of it for the next week. I'm almost tempted to nip home and check. Almost.

Anyhow, "Killing An Arab/10:15 Saturday Night" narrowly beats "Lullaby", followed by (in descending order) "In Between Days", "The Love Cats", "Let's Go To Bed", "Boys Don't Cry", "Close To Me", "Jumping Someone Else's Train" and "Friday I'm In Love".

Although all my favourite Cure albums are up to Pornography, I think I'll vote for a later single. In Between Days is catching my eye but it's a tough call.

Well since I have the impression that only like 10 people voted here, it might just be you and me in a b-side poll..

"In Between Days" is an easy, if not terribly original, choice - no matter how many times i hear it, it's just a great, great song. I didn't know that "Catch" was a single which is a track i've always liked; understated 'n all. But then, what about the brillianly imagined punk-ness in "Killing an Arab" from friggin' 1978! I dunno.

This shouldn't be too hard, considering that I've hardly ever liked The Cure, apart from half of Standing On The Beach and maybe 1/3 of Kiss Me x 3, both of which I sold at the dawn of the '90s. (Seventeen Seconds and Pornography didn't even make it that long.)

But dissing practically heresy around these parts, and anyway I come to praise the Cure, not bury them and all that. I certainly prefer the playful Cure to the gloomy Cure, and so I choose "Caterpillar". But there's a chance I'd change my vote if I knew which of their singles had the weird & wonderful "Man Inside My Mouth" for the B-side.

Oh, and I remember "Caterpillar" as being released around the same time as Rebbie Jackson's "Centipede", which I thought was kinda cool.

Man/mouth was on the b-side of "Close to me", well the "1/2 an octopus" 10" single.

I certainly prefer the playful Cure to the gloomy Cure, and so I choose "Caterpillar". But there's a chance I'd change my vote if I knew which of their singles had the weird & wonderful "Man Inside My Mouth" for the B-side.

i went for "Mint Car", with "The Lovecats" the runner-up.

"Never Enough" is missing; its b-side, "Harold and Joe," is among my favorite Cure tracks — maybe because it sounds so uncharacteristically laid back and peaceful, yet accompanied by that Cure glow.

I went for "Close to Me" partly for the aforementioned b-sides. The Mixed Up version (also released as a single) has gotten more play on my stereo over the years than any of their other work, a getting-up-in-the-morning, things-might-not-be-so-bad sort of feeling.

Went with "Just Like Heaven."

The only songs on here I don't like are "Mint Car" and "Strange Attraction". I am having a very difficult time deciding between "Primary", "Charlotte Sometimes", "The Hanging Garden", "Let's Go To Bed", "The Lovecats", "Close To Me", "Hot Hot Hot!!!", "Lullaby", "High" and "The 13th".

I like the high number of votes for the "Head On The Door" singles. Even though the best tracks on that album were non singles such as "A Night Like This", "Kyoto Song" and "The Blood".

I thought A Night Like This was a single. I've definitely seen a video for it.

yes, there was a video for it and it was included on Standing on a Beach, but it wasn't single (same as Play for Today and Other Voices).

All of them great songs that should definitely have been singles. "Other Voices" may be the best song on "Faith".

There was also a video for "10:15 Saturday Night" on there IIRC.

Chrissakes! that's the SECOND time my lone vote hasn't counted in a poll! Which can mean only one of two things:

a)Jeb Bush has infiltrated the ILM polling stations for some nefarious purpose; or

b)I've been stupidly forgetting to click the "VOTE" button before submitting responses.

Almost certainly the latter. I demand a recount for all 73 polls I've voted in since April.

I kinda wish I'd gone with the gut and picked "The Caterpillar" or "The Lovecats," both of which strike me as about the most fun + interesting period of the Cure having a concept of "singles" and whatnot -- just some lingering strain of rockism in me is like "eh, but that's pastiche, go with 'Let's Go to Bed.'"

i voted "Primary" because it sounded so good on KROQ whenever they used to play it. only three votes though, a b-sides poll could be interesting if people vote.

'Let's Go to Bed' is way more pastiche than 'Caterpillar', IMO.
