that clip is funny cuz iain matthews is really trying to be a rawk singer, but that's not his bag, his voice is too sweet and folky to be convincing. but thompson does rock out (i wish he still did, he's sooooo boring these days)

Don't get me wrong, the Fairport version kicks ass. But I'm a big Emmit Rhodes fan and love the Merry-Go-Round. Surely a song worth covering.

i just randomly found a copy of the s/t record in a pile of odds and ends as i was cleaning ... i put it on and immediately thought, "hein?? emmitt rhodes??" turns out the whole record rules. who knew. i'm in my 30s now, time for a fairport convention phase
