if the flier or whatever says 'live' next to the show name, does that mean it's a live performance of their own stuff or a DJ set? am i wetahted for not understanding this?

As I understand it it should be a "live" set, i.e. ableton a lot of the time. Promoters will often mislabel things that amount to decks'n'fx sets or laptop djing as "live" though. One of the guys from Vex'd actually posted about that yesterday or something.
