yes! 'ain't gonna feel' is so very lush and proggy, plus proto-acid squelches throughout. sounds more like space (the band) remixing pink floyd though.

The dub mix of Gary's Gang's "Making Music" might fit the bill, especially when the guitar solo kicks in.
Also, Witch Queen was a disco act that did a few great rock covers like "Get It On (Bang A Gong)" and "All Right Now."

im always assuming that emperor machine & idjuts are ripping off older stuff, and girthius maximus does sound a lot like supermax 'african blood' except with less santana-esque guitar solos.
