The Reverend Buck Naked?

My brother-in-law gave me a cassette tape many years ago, all of which seems to be songs he taped off the John Peel show in the (I think) mid 1980s. And one of the songs is by a band, or singer, called The Rev. Buck Naked, and appears to be called "You Only Love Me 'Cos I Work On Your Car". I can't find ANYTHING about this, and nobody I know has ever heard of the song. Anybody on here know what it is or where it came from? Thanks!

There's Buck Naked and the Bare Bottom Boys, but this sounds like someone else.

Should be the title of your first mix CD.

Thanks Ned, but that definitely looks like a different Buck Naked! The song I have on my cassette is truly wonderful, and features some extended car/oil change sexual metaphors, along with inspired auto-workshop sound effects.

One of three google hits I got for it was from Belle and Sebastien's tour diary.

I thought this was about Bif Naked getting ordained or something.

Weird! But that fits, I guess - I can imagine Murdoch tucked up in bed with his radio in 1986, blown away by the sheer weirdness and brilliance of this song.
