I've got to play a Russian song in the background of a presentation for my uh, Russian, class. I can't remember hearing a Russian song in my life. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd prefer if it was something with in the noisy-rock/metal/punk general ballpark, but anything is fine.

If you choose one of them noisy-filth-rock-tracks by a certain Leningrad, you've got yourself your historical reference as well as some authentic swearing also. You've been warned ;)

Persephone's Bees - "Muzika Dlya Fil'ma" (perhaps more garage/surfy than what you're looking for)

Auktyon = noisy avant-punk with some jazzbo stuff (their latest album has Marc Ribot and Frank London on it, enough said). Yat-Kha = slow punk with Tuvan throat singing; will scare the shit out of your class. Aria = straight-up hair metal.

(Once again: quite doubtful that Yat-Kha "sing songs in the Russian language" (as asked in the thread title))

The song is called Evening Bell. I timestamped it as there was a little bit of dialogue before this. It comes from a film called The Red Snowball Tree (1974) and it was a favorite of Fassbinder.
