Open Mike Eagle has a long form interview podcast with Paul focused on certain of his works. It’s called What Had Happened Was.I’ve always loved Paul but I love him now more than ever. Can’t wait for them to touch on Psychoanalysis and Paul Barman.

Surprised there hasn't been any mention of A Prince Among Thieves, what he called a "movie on wax" (and what Robert Christgau called "the closest thing to a true rock opera you've ever heard" before putting it on his list of the top ten albums of 1999). I was a late-comer and even though it's been out-of-print, I found a mint used copy last year for about $6. Count me in as another fan, it's a masterpiece and for my money his greatest work outside of his productions for De La Soul.

Does anyone know why Prince Paul changed Psychoanalysis when Tommy Boy reissued it? Was that his idea or did the label suggest it?

I have yet to hear the “What happened was” podcast about Prince Paul’s career, I wonder if it’s addressed there?

Anyways that was one of my favorite albums ever for a long time, when I bought the Tommy Boy reissue in the late ‘90s.

I've never heard the WordSound version but I wouldn't think there was much to it other than Tommy Boy trying to sell a record that was probably still available in shops.
