Humphrey Ocean & The Hardy Annuals - "Whoops A Daisy" - C/D

I was recently working my way through the Stiff Records Box Set (xmas present) and came across this fantastic one off single from Humphrey Ocean who was once the bass player for Ian Dury's first band Kilburn & The High Roads, it was released (I think around 77/78).

How did I miss this? There seems to be nothing on the net about the single, I'm certain that the Blockheads are the backing band and the singing style and lyrics owe a little to Dury (actually a cross between Dury and Viv Stanshall if that's possible)

Anyone interested in either Dury or the Bonzos should have a wee listen.

(quality is a little thin, but listenable)

The only thing that the net revealed is that Humphrey is now a well known painter and member of the Royal Academy, what a dude.

Yes, I'm pretty sure the Blockheads are tha back-up combo on this one. I believe it's a Dury/Jankel/Ocean composition (or, at least, a Dury lyric). It certainly bears the hallmark of his work, ie it's a list song.
It also came in five different colour vinyls too, fact fans!
Humph was -I think- a member of Kilburn & The High Roads with Ian, and was actually a pretty well-respected artist at the time too; his handiwork graces the cover of 10cc's The Original Soundtrack, for example.

Isn't that a Hipgnosis cover?

He was part of Hipgnosis, cool.
