That is, outside of "Jesus' Blood..." and "...Titanic".

Hommages (1982, recently re-issued with 2 bonus tracks) is the next logical thing to try but (like "Jesus' Blood...." and "Titanic" isn't really typical / representative of his later work.

After that I'd suggest the comp. Gavin Bryars: A Portrait is probably worth a punt to see what (if any) of his later work interests you.

Personally I haven't felt the urge to delve any deeper than that.

I'm fond of his cello concerto A Farewell To Philosophy. Not so experimental as Titanic/Jesus, but with the same neo-romantic touch.

I found a Portsmouth Sinfonia LP in a junk shop for 50p recently, and its just as dreadful as its supposed to be. so, er, not that then.

nine months pass...

How in the FUCK do I find the Gavin Bryars-Simon Fisher Turner score or recording for Genet's "Un Chant D'Amour"? I desire it greatly.

You might have trouble finding those stores...

Meanwhile, that album is a minimum of $29 on Discogs in VG and $85 in NM!

no, i meant it was worth a shot for the label to do that promotion and get people to actually buy the album.

What else has Bryars done that’s in the vein of After the Requiem (meaning the whole ECM album not just the title track)? It’s my favorite thing I know of his by miles and miles.
