have you introduced anyone to their favourite band?

have you made someone a tape and watched them fall in love with a song on it?, or dragged anyone to a concert and earned their praise afterward? do you go to shows and see people who wouldn't be there without you? do you feel massively superior because you heard them first, or glad to have spread the love?

most of the music i like's come from someone's endorsement, a musician's interview if not someone i know personally. i am curious; maybe you've all got good stories about playing people the song they danced to at their wedding, &c.
