Bubble and Scrape is a great album. What's the problem with that one? On the other hand, seeing Thurston Moore play Psychic Hearts at ATP should be pretty fucking lame. I've never seen ANYONE under any circumstance say that album is anything better than mediocre (and I agree). While I also hate Built to Spill with a passion, I can at least accept its inclusion because it has a "classic" status among indie rockers. But they must have been really reaching for a final act when they chose that Thurston album.

the Who playing tommy in 1989 sucked balls. the Who playing quadrophenia in 1996-1997 was astonishingly good. in both cases, half the original band -- which is to say, keith moon -- was long dead.

of course, like most of the other shit they did first, it's doubtful they'll get proper credit/blame for starting the whole "bands playing entire old-ass albums in concert" trend.

That there MBV show from June, which is or was posted on The Return Of My Bloody Valentine thread, does have some lame tracks, like ,"Please sir, is thise where you want theeze soundz?" (plop) But also some good ones, while the guitar beastie gradually gets all waked up again--and you got volume control on yer download-playing device. On the other hand, maybe: just got a press release heralding the New York Dolls Live At The Fillmore (yep, it's recent)
