i like these glossy beats way better than overrated as shit "brilliant stark minimalism from the neptunes" beats from hell hath but these verses are just inexcusable if you liked their first album or wgi4c2

I was disappointed with this at first but its been growing on me a bit. I wonder if some of the new tracks are actually remixes of stuff that didn't appear on the previous mixtapes. Some of them almost sound like it.

Hopefully the next Clipse album which will supposedly be out later this year is alot better.

Ha! Dude (I'm assuming it's actually one of the Brothers Clipse) can write, but why's he pissed at what is essentially a good review. It does bring up the point Pitchfork's all over the place when it comes to the number rating system. Too bad the otherwise well-written comment section has to devolve into "faggot" calling. Pitchfork's numerical ratings do mean something to a certain section of the internet though, see any number of threads on other message boards speculating whether a certain hyped indie album will get a 10.0. I guess Clipse feel kind of betrayed after all the Pitchfork boosting they've gotten over the past few years. Still funny, though

yeah...even if they kinda have a point about mixtapes being reviewed like an album, they didn't say shit when they were getting 8.8 ratings for their mixtapes. they know Pitchfork is their biggest audience and probably their biggest live gig every year at this point, so any sense of that slipping away has them shook.
