It's strange to listen to some of his early Canadian records (as the Yodelin' Ranger) and realize that he was from the same generation as Ernest Tubb and Cliff Carlisle and all those other guys who followed in Jimmie Rodgers's wake way back in the '30s. As far as Americans are concerned, he didn't exist until somewhere around '49 or '50 or so, and it's easy to forget that breakthrough singles like "I'm Movin' On" and "The Golden Rocket" were the work of a guy who was in the business for a decade and a half before he made it big in the states.

eh, I'll be boring and side with "I'm Movin' On."
