Autotune as in extreme robot-effect type autotune? That'd probably sound cool. I've used autotune for pitch correction on a trombone before, it sounded pretty normal.

right, autotune as in extreme robot-effect type autotune

regular old pitch correction - something's flat or sharp, autotune locks it onto the scale without anybody noticing

Just one thing I was thinking about as I was getting on the copter (J0hn D.), Sunday, 26 April 2009 02:58 (seventeen years ago)

the other stuff being done with autotune at present is like when Ike Turner noticed that the hole in his speaker cone actually made the speaker sound cool

Wow, this might be one of the few things I could agree with the Reverend on wanting to hear.

rinse the lemonade (Jordan), Friday, 26 February 2010 22:55 (sixteen years ago)

is there any possible way for us to swap memories?

The Reverend, Friday, 26 February 2010 22:56 (sixteen years ago)

apparently you have to really slide around to get the effect, but it is good

(t-pain app for iphone + being in a band with three trombones)

rinse the lemonade (Jordan), Friday, 26 February 2010 22:57 (sixteen years ago)

I don't have either of those things :-/

The Reverend, Friday, 26 February 2010 22:57 (sixteen years ago)

yes!

The Reverend, Friday, 26 February 2010 23:04 (sixteen years ago)

the T-Pained baby is really distressing. But I can't imagine anything but good things from an autotuned trombone.

FC Tom Tomsk Club (Merdeyeux), Friday, 26 February 2010 23:11 (sixteen years ago)

easy, free way to simulate this on your home computer:

(a) find a recording with a good stretch of solo trombone
(b) run through an off-brand pitch-correction VST
