The Final ABBA Album That Never Was

A bit imaginative, and all of the tracks might not have been on the album (pretty sure the b-sides wouldn't), but making this poll still, to show how wonderful this album might have been had they ever been able to finish it. They quit on top, artistically!

"The Day Before You Came"

Tough call this. Either "Under Attack" or "I Know Him So Well" for me, can't help but feel "One Night in Bangkok" already got the best version it was going to get. I'm gonna vote "I Know Him So Well" cos I'm a big fat drama queen.

You Owe Me One is one of my favorite ABBA songs anyway, so I have to vote for it here.

DiSTORTOTRON (Johnny Fever), Sunday, 26 April 2009 02:06 (seventeen years ago)

Went for "Under Attack" myself, but a tough call indeed. "Under Attack"/"You Owe Me One" could have been one of the best double a-side singles ever had it been marketed as one.

"The Day Before You Came" no doubt about it.

The Pompatus Of Love (Boxing Kangaroo), Sunday, 26 April 2009 17:54 (seventeen years ago)

What is the logic of this - you are lumping together late Abba tunes with ones written for Chess?

The Real Dirty Vicar, Sunday, 26 April 2009 17:57 (seventeen years ago)

These two were not originally written for Chess.

(Or, at least the chorus of "One Night In Bangkok" wasn't - I believe the "rap" part was added later)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

IKHSW is pure Tim Rice, just sayin.

Wasn't there a couple of unreleased Abba tracks that got tacked on to a 'greatest' CD? Or are they here already?

Frankly, don't really care enough to vote. Carry on.

"I Am The City" was released on "More ABBA Gold", I guess that may be what you are thinking of. That CD also contained "Cassandra", but that had already been a b-side.

two months pass...

Ok, someone needs to tell me why "Just Like That" was never released. All we get is about a minute on that weird medley they released on their boxes:

why did this poll only get 9 votes? will abba be forgotten???

Dominique, Thursday, 9 July 2009 03:12 (sixteen years ago)

Well, it is a poll of a record that doesn't exist, Dom...

What a great song this is, tho...

Naive Teen Idol, Thursday, 9 July 2009 03:14 (sixteen years ago)

oh yeah, i know -- i guess I just figure any abba fan is a fanatic, which is maybe (probably) not the case. i suffer from a lot of wishful thinking w/this band :/
