I really like it, a lot of potential singles there.

Dud. They sound like Morcheeba now. And I hate it when indie bands go "Hey, everyone, we like pop music!" as if this were some wild new discovery, and then proceed to kick off with a clunky, forced single about fun! and dancing!

i figured they must have changed quite a bit, the two singles of theirs i have are not in any sense chart friendly

This album is pretty boring but I like the recurring 'bath' theme in the CD booklet, as this band is chiefly associated in my mind with someone I know getting a blowjob from the singer, in a bath

I've only heard two of the songs off this one, but it's way different to the first. Not sure yet if it's a good or bad change-up.

Some of the slower songs are a bit similar to Morcheeba, yes, but there's only 3 of them, and overall the songs are much better.
And Shingai Shoniwa >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Skye Edwards, Macy Gray & Co.

This is fucking horrible. The BellRays goes Rihanna. But I know some people here dig the idea.

Bit insulting to the Bellrays & Rihanna, that.

I have not heard them yet, but I just read this about them. Rapper, musician and actor Mos Def in the Sunday New York Times on the music he is listening to:

Noisettes

They have the most incredible lead singer in rock ’n’ and roll today, bar none. Her name is Shingai Shoniwa. She is phenomenal. She plays bass, she does lead vocals and her range is out of here. And she’s a stone babe. Like Grace Jones, Barbarella. It’s really kind of disturbing. The songs on “Wild Young Hearts” (Mercury) are well written, and the band is tight. They put me in the mind of Earl Greyhound, those three-piece sets that really work.

Yea, I saw that. Farewell "indie landfill"

I love about half the new album, the other half is a little meh. But damn did they get trashed at PopMatters today.

Our Hannah told me "Never Forget You" was by Duffy.

I never heard the Noisettes prior to them "going pop", so Dorian's point upthread is kind of lost on me. But it is odd how little they crop up on ILM. "Never Forget You" is still everywhere on TV, like "Don't Upset the Rhythm" used to be (and not only thanks to the Mazda advert). Duffy, pfft. I can't imagine Duffy delivering anything of that quality, no matter how hard she tried.

This is the prepop Noisettes. I liked their first album; their second did nothing for me.
