TS: old-Live105 vs. nu-Live105

I've read that Live 105 (btw, this post is probably of interest to Bay Areans only) has a new program manager who plays what he likes as opposed to the old(butnotthatoldlikefromthe80sold) format of hip modern rock. Flatulent rhetoric or is it actually worth tuning into now? I'm afraid to find out for myself.

No, really, that's better than anything on (modern) radio here in the DC area. I'm (every time I'm forced to be near a radio) stunned by the paucity of choice and lack of variety. Drives me right away. We hear a great deal of Smashmouth, Offspring and all the other two- words-mashed-together bands. I thought it was everywhere...do program directors where you live actually program a list like that?

Matt Riedl (veal), Monday, 22 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

what makes this list so choice? the fact that it includes one or two 'return of rock' bands? the rest of it is your garden modern-rock slop - this playlist is indistinguishable from krock in new york or y100 in philadelphia or [insert call letters and city here]. smashmouth's kind of a 'mix' station band these days - maybe your station of choice switched formats and you didn't notice?
