"Gallagher told Maxim Magazine that The Rolling Stones, who are currently preparing for their latest world tour, had only recorded one good album in their 40-year career."

Wait a minute, how many good albums have Oasis recorded again? Less than two and more than none, imho.

He doesn't like the Beach Boys either, I understand..

Venga, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

depends on wether or not you like the oasis brand of pub rock or not.

declan mccann, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

noel talks sense shockah!

Julio Desouza, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Stones weren't exactly the most consistent band in the world as far as albums went, even when they were good, but it took them about fifteen years to start sucking as badly as Oasis did after only two albums.

Justyn Dillingham, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Mind you, Heathen Chemistry is a better album title than most of the Stones' ever were. Although I still think even a less-than-good Stones album pisses all over Oasis' every utterance

Jorge Mourinha, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Satanic Majestie's Request is a bettah title than all of Oasis' put togethah!

Sean Carruthers, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

oasis recorded two good albums? you're not pulling my leg are you?

jack cole, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The first three (yes, even Be Here Now -- took a while to grow on me, but it did) are all worthy.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Also, I thought Liam said that rather than Noel...?

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I seem to remember Noel, around the time of the first Oasis album, saying something like (extreme paraphrase) "Lennon will piss all over me in a couple of albums' time, but my first one is better than his", or something. Thought it was fair point at the time, and became more so up to about 2000; I would say that it gets truer every day, if only Abbey Road wasn't so annoying.

OleM, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Be Here Now has more good songs than the debut. Sticky Fingers has more good songs than Noel's ever stolen.

B-Rad, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i wouldn't have expected noel to be a rolling stones fan, so this doens't surprise me

gareth, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

do you think Liam will neglect and abandon his first kid, so he can be more like what John lennon was?

Pulpo, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

As we're on the subject, if slightly irrelevently, does anyone here know why a Beatles tribute band would call itself 'Oasis?'

Tim Bateman, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

NO DON'T CRITICISE OASIS! YOU'LL SHATTER ALL ACCEPTED REASON AND OPINION!

for fuck sake if you're going to be an asshole at least don't be so fucking boring about it. Jesus.

Ronan, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yay! Xstatic Peace is back!

Pulpo, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Julio = our very own Noel.

Mark, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

calum to thread...

shlongdong, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

He doesn't like Oasis! He is racist. What a fuckwit!

Indieholic Anonymous, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oasis make great karaoke fodder. Noel is makes a great dickhead of himself in the press - which gets him lots of press.

Andrew, Sunday, 28 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

''Julio = our very own Noel.''

HA HA yes I am here to destroy all the bands you love.

Julio Desouza, Sunday, 28 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

50,000 Journey fans cannot be wrong.

Jack Cole, Sunday, 28 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes they can, and yes they are.
