Not sure 'scary' is really the word for poor Mr.Nomi. Klaus was definetely unique, though. I can't think of another artist like him.

I've just recently picked up the debut album because of the Kristian Hoffman connection. Arthur recently sent me Kristian's newest album to check out (thanks Arthur!) and there was some biz in ther press info about how Kristian used to work with Klaus. Admitted: Klaus used to make me a bit apprehensive looking at that cover, and I can't say that I'd probably want to hang out with the guy even if he were still around. (Looks are deceiving a lot of the time though, so...) Anyhow, listened to the song "Total Eclipse" so far, and I guess the best way to think of it is to imagine early 80's Eurodisco crossed with opera. I don't know how well that'll go over through the whole course of an album, but I'll try to report back.

Just recently relistened to the Eclipsed compilation -- plenty of enjoyable stuff, though generally speaking I find his covers more interesting than his originals. Who exactly is Hoffman again? I gather said person must have had some career since the Nomi days.

Klaus Nomi makes me feel less alone in the world. :)

Hey Ned, AMG is your friend. I'm surprised you don't know about Hoffman, he seems like he'd be right up your alley. The new album is GRATE.
