Nice that you put both 'More More More' and 'Steal My Sunshine' in. The former has more hooks than the entire Lennon- McCartney songbook!

Much as I love He's on the Phone, I'd swap it for their cover of Stormtrooper in Drag. Why wasn't it a single????

Jez, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What is it with all of the Steal my Sunshine love? A few people I know love this song, but it strikes me as so twee and dorky.

Nicole, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

St. Etienne covered "Stormtrooper In Drag"? I must hear it!

"Steal My Sunshine" = yargh.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"yargh" = "ooh, this is really nice"

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned...it is a bloody masterpiece - it appears on Continental.

Jez, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am terribly sorry to everyone and wish to apologize for Dan and Jez's grievous miscalculations of what I ACTUALLY SAID.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ah wait, I see Jez speaks of the Numan cover. ;-) Therefore he is exempt from my wrath, which now falls upon the hapless Mr. Perry (and thank you Jez :-)).

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hapless? I'll have you know I'm chock-full of hap!

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Saint Etienne version of Stormtrooper is also on Random,2CD set of Gary Numan covers.

dek1, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Heavens, I thought I had that comp around here -- astounding! I shall investigate.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"What is it with all of the Steal my Sunshine love? A few people I know love this song, but it strikes me as so twee and dorky."

That's exactly why I like it.That & the killer Andrea True Connection sample.
