One of those songs is too sexy for this thread. So I voted for it.

This must be US charts right?

Evil Eau (dog latin), Monday, 18 April 2011 13:35 (fifteen years ago)

Voted for the song I liked best at the time (and maybe now, too): "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss."

jaymc, Monday, 18 April 2011 13:38 (fifteen years ago)

(This was my 8th-grade year, too, btw.)

jaymc, Monday, 18 April 2011 13:42 (fifteen years ago)

It was Johnny Fever's senior year in high school : )

kkvgz, Monday, 18 April 2011 13:43 (fifteen years ago)

Wait - confused - did you make a duplicate poll on purpose?

sb not, for I am just busting balls here.

kkvgz, Monday, 18 April 2011 13:45 (fifteen years ago)

(that may or may not be an empty threat...)

music loves drugs (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 18 April 2011 13:46 (fifteen years ago)

what, is it just because his poll was a direct copy from yr idea...?

music loves drugs (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 18 April 2011 13:46 (fifteen years ago)

sb not, for so many hormones were coursing through my 12-year-old brain that I fell in love with each and every one of these songs and wanted to create a way to vote for more than one.

kkvgz, Monday, 18 April 2011 13:47 (fifteen years ago)

lol

tempted to make a "Canadian #1 Singles From My Grade Eight Year"

steendriving is very bad - but I got a fake ID though! (some dude), Monday, 18 April 2011 13:48 (fifteen years ago)

^do it!...then i'll poll the polls

(polls are getting polled anyways)

music loves drugs (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 18 April 2011 13:49 (fifteen years ago)

xp: no, I just think that the trend of polling "hot singles from year when ________ happened to me" is funny, because we've probably polled each of those years singles before separately.

kkvgz, Monday, 18 April 2011 13:49 (fifteen years ago)

yeah totally -- doing sep of one year to may of the next year instead of the calender doesn't really make it any less redundant

Oh shit, so here's one of the threads I was thinking of, but it looks like Rev got tired before he got to polling 1991.

Set Adrift On Memory Bliss embarrasses nearly everything else here.

jer.fairall, Monday, 18 April 2011 13:58 (fifteen years ago)

Cream!

Glad you're making these moves strategically. (?)

That's why they call me (Johnny Fever), Monday, 18 April 2011 15:33 (fifteen years ago)

Look up in the air, it's your SB.

An A-Team of Apes. (Phil D.), Monday, 18 April 2011 16:04 (fifteen years ago)

1) set adrift
2) black or white
3) save the best for last
4) good vibrations

teledyldonix, Monday, 18 April 2011 18:56 (fifteen years ago)

"Jump" vs. "Save The Best" for me; Kris Kross win that easily though. (Runners-up, no order: "Set Adrift," "Black Or White," "Emotions," "Promise Of A New Day," "I Ador Mi Amor," maybe "Romantic" -- I'd have to go back and check that one, but it's definitely no "Superwoman.")

xhuxk, Monday, 18 April 2011 19:21 (fifteen years ago)

I'm going to one more poll with the same songs as above: "#1 Singles from the Year I Started Supply Teaching."

clemenza, Monday, 18 April 2011 19:23 (fifteen years ago)

I read that as "supply side teaching."

My mom is all about capital gains tax butthurtedness (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 18 April 2011 19:24 (fifteen years ago)

I read that as "puppy teaching". No idea if it exists but sounds adorable.

Man, these were dark times.

Pleasant Plains, Monday, 18 April 2011 20:55 (fifteen years ago)

This was my first year at secondary school. Assumed that the relative lack of songs I have good memories of was US/UK chart differences, but apparently all the songs I remember hearing this year actually came out the year after. Thanks, my completely erroneous memory.

That said, Set Adrift.
