F'rinstance, I saw Animal Factory last night - fairly ordinary film but the music was supercool...and very odd indeed.

That Harrelson/Quaid/Murray comedy "Kingpin" seemed to have a good run of tunes, though I can't find the full music credits anywhere.

I'll add Beyond the Valley of the Dolls & Hells Angels on Wheels.

"Hackers", Kruder and Dorfmeister, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Prodigy, loads of other good stuff. Woeful film.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 16 September 2002 11:33 (twenty-three years ago)

"Showgirls" -- Featuring Possum Dixon, Toni Halliday's post-Curve band Lillith and -- bizarrely -- KILLING JOKE. Crap-as-hell film, though.

Kingpin is hilarious. I don't remember a single song from the soundtrack.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 16 September 2002 14:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Penelope Spheeris' "Suburbia" might fall under this category....given the appalling display of "acting" that runs rampant throughout its entirely depressing depiction of youthful angst and ennui. Despite that, like the Jean-Michel Basquiat-driven "Downtown 81," it acts as a perfect time capsule from a since-vanished age, and captures some great live music moments from D.I., TSOL and Stevo-era VANDALS.

"Charlie's Angels" had a pretty broad-reaching soundtrack, if I remember correctly -- featuring everything from "Turning Japanse" by the Vapors and "Barracuda" by Heart to shit like Destiny's Child. And the film was utter crap.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 16 September 2002 21:21 (twenty-three years ago)

FITE! Charlie's Angels is a modern classic of the camp-as-fuck genre...

Charlie (Charlie), Monday, 16 September 2002 21:37 (twenty-three years ago)

"Mothman Prophecies" was rather crap, but the soundtrack is pretty excellent with Low and Glenn Branca.

And has anyone mentioned "Until The End Of The World" yet?

I guess I just did (even though I like the movie)

Chris Barrus (xibalba), Monday, 16 September 2002 23:09 (twenty-three years ago)

ahhh, the obvious answers that no-one's said yet, so it might as well be me ...

Purple Rain and Under a Cherry Moon!

Nutty Professor 2.
Romeo Must Die was actually probably a good film. But I never saw it.
