I trying to locate musicians from the mid 70's Danny Gunnip and Steve Preu (sp?) who played at coffee houses around Connecticut. They played original tunes and tunes from groups such as Pure Praire League, etc. I noticed a "Dave Gunnip and Friends" in Connecticut and wondered if this is any relation? I would like to purchase a cassette tape, CD, or album of Gunnip and Preu if a copy is still available. I was a great fan when I lived in Connecticut and miss their music! We moved to Texas in '76, and I was told a few years later they disbanded. Thank you for any help you can provide me.

six months pass...
Hey there, Amy!
I also used to listen to Danny Gunnip and Steve Preu in 1976, in places like "The Grange" and "Player's Tavern".
Danny used to sing a song that his father had sung to him as a boy, the Irish standard "Oh Danny Boy"... which was one of my favorites...
I remember seeing them in Stamford when on break from school, and I vaguely recall they were breaking up around '77...
My parents still live there, and when I would return home to visit, I asked around, but there was no sign of them...
If you should hear anything about them, please let me know!
Thanks,
Carol

three years pass...
Oh my god! There are two names I haven't heard for years. "Gunnip & Preu". I use to photograph them, as well as made several recordings and for years I still had the reel to reel tapes but lost them when I moved to California. My brother Tom had a record that they made and I bet he still has it but he now lives in England. As Carol stated, they did break up about '77 and I don't know what happen to Steve. However, I did see Danny playing with his brother Dave prior to the 80's. David had a band called "Micheal" but I lost track of them when I moved. You can try my brother Tom at [email protected]. Sorry this is four years after your request. :-)
