Here is the thread for 2004! Shortland St returns on Monday, who's excited?

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 06:17 (twenty-two years ago)

What does everyone think will happen?

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 06:18 (twenty-two years ago)

oh thank fuck. i have missed it bad.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 06:24 (twenty-two years ago)

It looks like Anne's prob dead and Tama's injured, but it could just be a dramatic ad. Dom seems to be abducting Delphi. Can't remember what else might be happening, they're repeating the finale right?

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 07:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I got all excited about it just before! I don't have a clue what'll happen, someone will die probably and I hope it's Anne.

Livvie (Livvie), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 08:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe Tama could become the character in the wheelchair, because Anne is clearly dead.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 09:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I guess me and Alex's hope that Dom and Delphi will have sex is never going to pan out then, it seems a bit late.

Livvie (Livvie), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 10:38 (twenty-two years ago)

wow, "YOU'RE DEAD TO ME" creepy foreshadowing moment!

[yes i did reading visual texts in school c english, bite me]

petra jane (petra jane), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 00:13 (twenty-two years ago)

... the first time I saw the preview my mum worriedly yelled "OH NO HE'S GOING TO RAPE DELPHI!" - but she could clobber him over the head with one of those big sturdy boots of the reputable ICU brand. Or Marshall will walk in for no apparent reason, maybe to announce "hey delphi your sister has been squashed by a giant block of concrete"...

alex (alex), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 10:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought he was gonna rape her, but it looks more like he's just trying to KILL her - imagine if both Anne and Delphi die, it'd be such a bad month for the Greenlaws.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 10:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Then they can die in a carcrash on their way up to the funeral

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh god!

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Frankly it's a NIGHTMARE SCENARIO

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I also REALLY want Chris and Donna to work it out. All throughout the season I was wondering when Dom was going to use Chris' affair against him.

Livvie (Livvie), Saturday, 24 January 2004 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

so are they repeating the cliffhanger tonight?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Saturday, 24 January 2004 22:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep, I can't wait!

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:11 (twenty-two years ago)

No wait, it's on Monday night.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Turns out I'll be home on Monday night now, so YAY.

Livvie (Livvie), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Donna needs a real man, though. A Maori man.

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 25 January 2004 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

i think she needs anyone but victor.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 25 January 2004 21:59 (twenty-two years ago)

That was a pretty stupid thing for Victor to say to Te Hana anyway considering he was the only male Maori character on the show at the time anyway, unless he was meaning Tama, and didn't he always dislike Joe?

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Monday, 26 January 2004 02:22 (twenty-two years ago)

hahaha oh yeah i'd forgot about that.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Monday, 26 January 2004 04:16 (twenty-two years ago)

ANNE IS DEAD! dom got away, dammit, but at least delphi's alive. man bad year for the greenlaw femily huh.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Tuesday, 27 January 2004 05:45 (twenty-two years ago)

So Delphi's in Cambridge for an undetermined time, Dom's in Sydney, I have an annoying feeling the whole Dom/her/Geoff plotline might just disappear now. Sh St characters aren't much good at coming back from these absences

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 29 January 2004 10:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a feeling it's gonna disappear too. Delphi sure as hell isn't coming back anyway. They didn't even show us the funeral!

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 29 January 2004 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

And now let's all pray that Nelson and Judy get it on, as it would rule!

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Friday, 30 January 2004 01:28 (twenty-two years ago)

YES!

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Friday, 30 January 2004 02:37 (twenty-two years ago)

are we seeing a new side of victor? and will tash's weekend of rebellion be a wake-up call for her?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Friday, 30 January 2004 07:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes Nelson and Judy! It seems to be a common line of thinking, I was talking to Sophie about it too. They'd be the best-looking couple on Sh St.

Livvie (Livvie), Saturday, 31 January 2004 01:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm also in favour of Nelson and Judy. We should start a petition. Or, failing that, write a letter to the TV Guide.

Minty (Minty), Saturday, 31 January 2004 01:45 (twenty-two years ago)

My sister didn't tape it blah blah. What happened?

Livvie (Livvie), Monday, 2 February 2004 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Donna called Tash and told the guy she was 18, Chris can't become the new CEO until he's cleared of charges, Delphi painted Marshall and just as they were kissing her dad walked in and was all "Oh so this is why yr moving to auckland" and I can't remember what else happened.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 2 February 2004 11:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Victor wants to spend more time postjob w/the whanau, cos they're everything to him. Sticky's wondering where Barb went w/Judy. Li Mei wants to become an um obstetrics (I'm prob way wrong w/that term) surgeon, Logan and Sticky are dubious as she is small and female. Oh and Logan's the acting CEO as E. no doubt remembers. And Delphi and Marshall make a horrible couple.

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Monday, 2 February 2004 11:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Also I'm really really glad I was wrong about Delphi disappearing! Welcome back, Delphi. I hope you brought the murder plotline w/you.

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Monday, 2 February 2004 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I missed tonight's episode, so thanks fellas!
There's no problem with someone small and girly being specialising in obstetrics, tho. At a guess, she probably wants to be an orthopedic surgeon. To be an orthopedic surgeon you have to be strong as an ox, and twice as smart!
Sorry, little medical humour there.

Minty (Minty), Monday, 2 February 2004 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yeah that must be it, sorry

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Monday, 2 February 2004 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

What's the difference?

Livvie (Livvie), Monday, 2 February 2004 12:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Obstetrics is the care of women during pregnancy, whereas orthopedics is to do with the bones and joints. Some orthopedic surgery, especially fixing up hips and stuff, requires a lot of muscle.

Minty (Minty), Monday, 2 February 2004 12:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep it was orthopedic

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 2 February 2004 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I should know this shit, my dad's a doctor. Though little does HE know, see the infamous broken leg story.

Livvie (Livvie), Monday, 2 February 2004 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Infamous? Do tell!

Minty (Minty), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 00:35 (twenty-two years ago)

That is such a good story.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 01:32 (twenty-two years ago)

"My Dad says I'm allowed to go out with any other boys, just not you."
Hahahahahahaha! They make that guy out to be such a bad father, then he goes and makes the parenting call of the decade!

Minty (Minty), Tuesday, 3 February 2004 11:02 (twenty-two years ago)

It's funny how Delphi's suddenly gotten all obedient, tho it's good in that it'll keep her away from the sickening clutches of Marshall. I'm really impressed w/how he's doing his best to hurt her into doing him just after Anne's died, what a cool guy!

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I think Nelson and Mrs Cotton are gonna make hot love soon

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

i haven't seen shortland street for three days. what happened?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Sunday, 8 February 2004 09:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Shit, I don't know how much I can remember. Victor's being nice once more, he wants to set up a clinic for homeless people at his place w/Tama and Shannon on soup/counselling. Nelson's buying Mrs Cotton's place off her, V's paying the deposit. Li Mei and Logan had a patient die on them, there's a debate over who's to blame for her being given penicillin (she was allergic). Sticky proposed to Barb at T/S's engagement party! Marshall's moping around and annoying Delphi. Logan's a crappy head guy but big surprise there, he just pisses off on cheesy dates w/Toni all the time.

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 8 February 2004 09:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Has anyone else noticed that Nick's voice seems to have broken recently?

Silly Sailor (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 12 February 2004 11:02 (twenty-two years ago)

It's probably just that he talks more now. Last night he managed to make jokes about the nuclear family and give Donna advice, whereas bfore he would've just grunted.

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 13 February 2004 02:35 (twenty-two years ago)

so do you think marshall's gonna go christian now that he's been touched by an angel, and end up in delphi's parents' good books so he can root her?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Friday, 13 February 2004 07:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey good point Andrew!!

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Thursday, 11 November 2004 09:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know how good a choice that band was, tho I did kinda like how they sang about pie and a bird

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 11 November 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

god we don't even have pecan pie here! I mean as a normal thing.
They were so awful. Please say they're not real.

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Friday, 12 November 2004 05:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Apparently they have been on Good Morning although I am not sure if that makes them any realer. I like how Sticky liked them!

This thread needs more Lucas.

Avril Lavignstein, Saturday, 13 November 2004 03:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you know Lucas has ADD and being on Shortland St is a good way to help him learn to behave or think about what he does or something?

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Saturday, 13 November 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

It's nice how Dom's descent into evil is accompanied by his removal from society's NICE BITS and now he's no better than a filthy homeless beggar and aren't THEY disgusting, it's just what he deserves, now he's just one of those crazy homeless creeps yelling at passersby.

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 25 November 2004 07:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I put that very very well. I am eloquent almost to a fault. It pissed me off, tho.

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 25 November 2004 07:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm a LIBERAL!

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 25 November 2004 07:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I know what you mean.

I worked "under" someone today who looked like Judy. I couldn't get over feeling all funny about that for some reason. Probably that I think Judy's attractive. A gay-acting straight? as opposed to their endless straight-acting lezs?
The archetypes of SH St:
the baddest baddy
kind of stupid harmless gits (Nick, Waverley, long line of pre Waverlys)
butch or butch lite straight women
awkward geeky med professional
?
?
?

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Friday, 26 November 2004 00:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I mean Judy's not gay acting exactly but she's kind of staunch and they have her in James Dean getup and so on

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Friday, 26 November 2004 00:33 (twenty-one years ago)

anyway Toni's my favourite, who is everyone elses?

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Friday, 26 November 2004 00:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Toni is my favourite though I have been known to vocally disparage her hair in some of it's many various styles. I watched an old episode of ShSt this morning, it was one of the time when Toni was in debt and poor and started shoplifting and whatshisname Barb's oldest son? Well he was being a total jerk about it... poor Toni.

Naturally ShSt will never be the same without Rachel McKenna, particularly DRUNK Rachel.

rainy (rainy), Friday, 26 November 2004 00:53 (twenty-one years ago)

The pretty lesbian nurse is not a good crier, which was making me hate her in the last few episodes I saw.

rainy (rainy), Friday, 26 November 2004 00:55 (twenty-one years ago)

and I didn't like the way her friends came to dinner and one wore a hat the whole time. Who wears a flowery-decorated hat while eating?

rainy (rainy), Friday, 26 November 2004 00:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes what happened to man lesbian and clown lesbian

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 26 November 2004 03:34 (twenty-one years ago)

OMG!! other people like toni! i get hassled for liking toni because she looks weird. but thats part of why i like her. also i think she is a reasonably strong character unlike most other female characters on sh st. this is also why i like judy. god why do i express everything so boringly?

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Friday, 26 November 2004 05:55 (twenty-one years ago)

no you don't. I agree.

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Friday, 26 November 2004 10:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I was kinda serious about the dykes, have I missed something or did they just get overwritten by Maia's family tragedy? For a little bit it looked ALMOST as if Maia might even get some action.

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 26 November 2004 10:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Christmas day special coming up, wonder what'll be on that? Having yr wedding on the 25th is a pretty stupid idea, I'd have thought. Why bother making yr own specialwecial day to celebrate yr LOVE when you can do it on a day that's ALREADY

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 26 November 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha. The tab key is odd. "special to everyone cos you pretty much def at least get a day off" etc, y'know, tho yeah reallife people don't get to have their weddings chronicled by Xmas day specials either

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 26 November 2004 11:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I would be pissed at having to go to a WEDDING on Xmas day. Maybe that's what Te Hana's really annoyed about.

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 26 November 2004 12:23 (twenty-one years ago)

It'll be at their palatial mansion anyway

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 26 November 2004 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Also isn't it weird that everyone is so convinced Dom is faking it (and he prob. is, go Sh St) but he's managed to keep his eyes open the ENTIRE TIME? Isn't that kind of impossible?

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 26 November 2004 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

He only has to do it when various retards are looking, bet I could fool them too. Don't say his seedy charms are fooling you too

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 26 November 2004 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think you could, hon. I'm pretty sure Toni had her eyes on him for more than like 2 mins and that's maybe the max he could not blink for.

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 26 November 2004 12:42 (twenty-one years ago)

No you get to a point where it stops hurting, it's hard but doable

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 26 November 2004 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you try?

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 26 November 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Couple times

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 26 November 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

That's brave.

Livvie (Livvie), Friday, 26 November 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Whatever

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 26 November 2004 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

why don't you get a part on Shortland Street Andrew? I think you should.

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Saturday, 27 November 2004 00:39 (twenty-one years ago)

hell yeah

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Saturday, 27 November 2004 01:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Too ugly

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Saturday, 27 November 2004 02:07 (twenty-one years ago)

For fuck's sake, Dom dumped the body in Lake Pupuke! That thing's like 200 metres across! Or maybe more, I guess. Not much. Congratulations Maia.

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 29 November 2004 06:55 (twenty-one years ago)

And he must've dumped it pretty close to the shore! I mean if it was weighted down it wouldn't have drifted.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 29 November 2004 09:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Haven't we established previously that Dom's schemes aren't usually, y'know, very GOOD?

Livvie (Livvie), Monday, 29 November 2004 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

At least he didn't just leave her in his backyard or something

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 29 November 2004 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Does he even have a backyard? He could have left her on the balcony, I guess.

Livvie (Livvie), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 10:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Or on the sofa in front of the Tv in a lifelike position

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish when they discovered the body it'd been the corpse of THE REAL WAVERLEY and that's why she was so horrified and she had to escape and so on, what actually happened was fine tho obv

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

how come Waverley was so freaked? I saw her at the end of the episode where they found it but missed the start of the next one and couldn' quite understand if it was just that she recognised who it was or if there was more to it.

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 11:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it's just that she's quite wussy. Nick's frustration w/her tonight was cool.

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 11:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Well to be fair on poor annoying Waverley it WAS a rotting corpse, I guess, tho did she actually look much?

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 11:51 (twenty-one years ago)

That was cool. I bet secretly he wishes Eltham was still there so he could smoke pot on the boat again.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 01:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Where did Eltham GO? I realised yesterday he'd disappeared.

Livvie (Livvie), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 02:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah after the fire at the Dogs and all his drug trouble he decided to go back home to the country,

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 03:06 (twenty-one years ago)

To grow more drugs, I hope.

Livvie (Livvie), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 03:39 (twenty-one years ago)

WHO WILL SURVIVE?? i sure came back at the right time, shorters is exploding with awesomeness.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

but what if they kill off Toni? Noo!

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Thursday, 2 December 2004 04:06 (twenty-one years ago)

they better not.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Thursday, 2 December 2004 05:31 (twenty-one years ago)
