We've had a thread on minor Simpsons characters, but why not do a poll on the major characters in the show? The definition of a major character here is that the character must have his or her own Wikipedia entry. However, I've left out some characters with their own entries, either because they've only appeared in a handful of episodes (Mona Simpson, Fat Tony, etc.), or because - despited appearing regularly in the show - their main function is to provide short gags (Hans Moleman, Cletus, Professor Frink, etc.), and they can't be therefore considered major.
