I ended up buying the "In the Bathtub of the World" DVD and "I Don't Hate Las Vegas Anymore." The latter was probably the most entertaining film failure I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong, the film itself is not a failure--it just seems that Caveh failed in every thing he wanted to achieve through the film, but succeeded in making a very funny, honest & beautiful movie. The whole concept of "fate" and letting God "direct" your movie is an interesting one & it would make for a good discussion post.
"In the Bathtub of the World" was great as well, although painful to watch in some places--like a non-fictional "David Holtzman's Diary". I liked the shorts too, especially "I Was Possessed By God", which is probably the most disturbing thirty minutes I've ever sat through. Again, it makes for interesting conversation as to whether Caveh achieved his goals with this one & how much of an effect having a camera on him influenced his words/reactions/feelings/etc.
I can't wait to see what he releases next.
