Almodovar Recommendations

I'm ashamed to say it but I've seen very little of his work, with the exception of Women on the Verge, Tie Me Up..., and Talk to Her.

Any recommendations?

I don't get it. Don't take anything I say about Almodovar seriously unless it is a negative opinion that you wish to share.

Everyone seems to like All About My Mother, yeah? (I liked it.)

Those would be my recommendations, actually. But now that you've started, you may as well see all of them.

Thank you everyone!

I haven't really kept up with his recent films, I'm chagrined to admit, but of the older ones that don't get much mention, I thought Matador was quite fun. Then there's the one about nuns with names like Sister Rat Poison and so on.

Labyrinth of Passion is a good early work. Live Flesh is an interesting leap into thrillers, though it also might be his most conventional work. If you like his comedic side more, you shouldn't watch The Law of Desire or High Heels, since they're all melodrama. Kika is also quite good, it's definitely underrated. Actually, as far as I know the guy hasn't made a single bad flick. Go see them all!

I didn't really like him that much till Live Flesh (though I haven't seen Flower Of My Secret, whichI gather fits in with the feel of the wonderful Live Flesh and All About My Mother/

They've been running an Almodovar festival in Berkeley and it's been great to see his 80s films, which I otherwise would not have seen.
