Is this film worth seeing?

Its not bad, perhaps the truest depiction of modern Dublin yet seen in film....but if you're not from Dublin then that won't mean much to you. Its got a crude energy, its quite funny, and some of the performances (Colin Farrell & Colm Meaney especially) are good.
On the other hand, its not really about anything, its not particularly well made - its low-budget is obvious and it looks for the most part like a tv show - and it ends with a version of I Fought The Law by Farrell....
to answer your question : yes. Its worth seeing...

It's one of those multi-character stories where you discover connections between the characters as time goes on. Not the best or worst example of that kind of storytelling I've ever seen.

Just to warn people who are a bit sensitive to violence, the movie's got some raw moments. There's some violence against women that's fairly shocking, right up front, but if you can deal with it and give the film some trust, there's definitely balance to the film. Women dish it out as much as the men do. The whole thing has a zany, edgy kind of comic punch. I think it's worth seeing, esp. as it's been a pretty slow movie season.

Maybe I have seen too many violent films, but I wouldn't think of Intermission as some kind of disturbing batterfest.

It's funny, it's got well-drawn charactes, and after watching it you'll be putting brown sauce in your tea. Winner.

Worst thing I've sat through all-year. The pre-credits bit was the peak, everything after that was a rapid descent into sub-Altman ensemble-land.

bah, the true heart of a celt does not beat in you.

yeah, i thought it was so-so at best. every plot line wrapped up in a convenient hollywood fashion - the end felt incongruously feel-good for a gritty, low budget indie, like nothing had actually been at stake for any of the characters. it's entertaining enough, but i'd wait for dvd/video.
