Brakhage tribute at Tribeca Film Festival

[Whoa - ILX totally chewed up my original post -- I'll try again:]

Spent a good portion of the day going through the 150+ films being shown at this year's Tribeca film festival. I have serious issues with the festival which you read about on my site, along with the films that I'm interested in. Check it out: http://filmbrain.typepad.com

The big news is that there is a Brakhage tribute program as part of the festival, including a 2 hour film by Ken Jacobs (Keeping an Eye on Stan)!

Jay -- you KNOW you want to come to NYC for this -- I can even put you and your girlfriend up.

buddha--much thanks for the offer to put us up for the fest, but unfortunately we won't be able to make it. it sounds like it's going to be incredible, though, and I would go insane trying to decide what to watch!

one of the short films about brakhage in the tribute is directed by pip chodorov, the founder and moderator of the Frameworks.

if i didn't hate crowds so much i'd move to the city in a second--it's a shame how much incredible stuff i miss living in vermont.
