Being a huge fan of Shock Corridor, I've been waiting to get this one on DVD for a while. Picked it up last night, and it did not disappoint. At points, this reminds me of a David Lynch film if it were in the 60s and also has the off-beat qualities of "Night of the Hunter" (e.g., that music scene with Constance Towers and the children singing about bluebirds is just jaw-dropping). Lines like: "Angel Foam goes down like liquid gold..." I didn't know they could get away with dialogue like that in the early 60s. :) Towers is terrific in this movie.

The Mar/April Film Comment says that they're restoring and re-editing Fuller's 1980 war movie to his original wishes.
