I know there are a number of Chicago people on the board. I'm wondering if anyone is going to cut out of work and attend one of these games. I think I might go tomorrow.

Man, it's so nice out right now, but alas, I am stuck at work. Should be interesting to see the drunk Cubs and Sox fans going at each other.

It's awfully tempting, Kerry.

I got my tickets - took the afternoon off. I figure, someone has to root for the Marlins in their temporary 'home'.

4 errors in the 8th by the 'Spos...OUCH.

Yay Fighting Fish! Kerry, please give us a report!

Ought to be pretty funny, if there were Sox fans there rooting for the Fish, and Cub fans rooting against them...

Box score says 4003 were there; that sounds pretty close to the attendance at that Sox-Phils make-up game a couple weeks back.

That should be interesting. I haven't been to a game with that few people since ... the dark ages of attendance.

Hell, 4003 people means damn good seats, though! It's general admission. What the hell, it's not a Sox game, so I don't have to feel embarrassed about the attendance. I hear the Sox fans are hanging out by the home dugout.

Actually, it sounds kind of fun, because it's such a weird event.

I WILL give a report.

Also, for fence-sitters: $5 from the ticket goes to hurricane relief.

So weird...I should dig out my camera.

I sat in the 10th row behind the Sox / 'Marlins' dugout - the best seats I've had in a million years. There were all sorts of fans there besides White Sox & Cub fans. There were also Yankee fans & Yankee haters (mainly Red Sox fans). Someone in front of me seemed to be purely an Expos hater (?). A lot of Cub fans on the Expos side. Southpaw, the elusive White Sox mascot showed up and was hanging out with Billy the Marlin. I got a picture of the two of them sitting in the seats. Man, that Southpaw is huge- I think it's Terry Forster in there.

Lots of brand new Expos and Marlins gear, some with the price tags still on.

For people who regularly attend games at the Cell, it was kind of weird. There was music & stuff, but it was so much quieter. It was a far less serious atmosphere - between innings, the Diamond Vision showed an apparently pantless fat female Cub fan dancing, and a female Yankee fan did an extended dance performance that Jerry Reinsdorf probably wouldn't approve of.

They had, like, one beer vendor and one stand open, so no one got that drunk.

Attendance : 5,457 , but a lot of them only stayed for about half the game. Except the White Sox fans, of course. :)

Oh yeah, and Marlins won.
