Fletcher and Peverill

OK, its a lovely day up here and so let's start the argument early so I can take the kids to Harry Potter.

Fletcher - sorry son, knew you were not going to make the contest, raised your knee, that is a charge, see you later, two weeks

Peverill - match staff cannot touch players, warning and a fine

Fletch 4 weeks (as records go, these days his is reaching Rick Wakeman levels for being long and bad)

Peverill a heavy fine. Agree about 'match staff' generally but the fact that it was a doctor doing his job, and not some unnecessary little turd like a runner getting his head on the idiot box and wishing he was still playing, will count against him.

I'm not sure Pev knew it was the doc, I think he instinctively pushed when he was grabbed and the doc should never have grabbed him anyway. I thought his dive was hilarious and the gut hanging out was the icing on the cake.

There was no malice in Fletch's actions but he will probably get 2 weeks.

I think Peverill should be ashamed of himself...pushing a pregnant person to the ground like that....

Not much in the Fletcher bump, but due to his record he will probably get time. Lifted his knee but not that high, I genuinely think his height made it look worse than it was.

As for Peverill, dont particularly like him, but don't believe he should get time, maybe a small fine. Agree the Doc should never have touched him. Too much possiblity for a brawl with all that emotion out there.

Do you think he should be bulk billed?

chrisso (chrisso), Monday, 14 June 2004 23:25 (twenty-two years ago)

...only if it's the right prescription....

Yes bulk bill him but only if he doesn't have private cover!

I think he should be made to say sorry to everyone, even those he has never met.

It took real guts for the Doctor to confront Peverill.
Getting dumped on his ar5e was a bitter pill for the Doc to take.
Football doctors are not all that they are quacked up to be.
I hope Peverill takes his medicine like a man at the tribunal tonight.

HA HA.

Each line sicker than tho one before it.

I wonder what defence the Sheedmeisters will throw up at the tribunal.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Tuesday, 15 June 2004 01:28 (twenty-two years ago)

The umpire has withdrawn his report of Fletcher.

chrisso (chrisso), Tuesday, 15 June 2004 08:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Fair enough to chrisso, seems some weeks they actually get it right!

Lucy Lion (Lucy Lion), Wednesday, 16 June 2004 01:05 (twenty-two years ago)

best $20 grand ever spent .... LOL

Hawka (hawka), Friday, 18 June 2004 06:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Fletcher...finished. Peverill...not good enough. Sheedy...wants a longer contract than Essendon are prepared to offer.

Here endeth the lesson?

And so the word or REB was taken forth and spread to the football world.
