Sunday Matches in Melbourne - Demons ideas

I see that the President of Melbourne, Paul Gardner and asked the AFL to undertake a promotional campaign on Sunday football in Melbourne.

The D's, Geelong and Port will play 13 of 22 matches on Sunday for this season and while Sunday crowds are on the rise, more could be done to market the day as a major footy day, and not the poor cousin of Friday nights. He has sited what the VRC has done with the Derby Day and the Oaks as an examples.

Apart from his team improving its winning average I think he has a point and has approached it in the right manner. I know the Lion's prefer their home games to be Saturady nights as it seems to be the best drawing time for the supporters. The early Sunday game as part of a TV double header seems to be the worst.

Personally, I don't give a fugg when the Catters play their matches, as long as the club maximises its revenue. I'd take 13 wins this year though...
