I had this idea that when I came back after exams, my life would be sorted out and I'd be mature enough to be a quality ILX poster.

This hasn't happened.

Please kill the old me. I'll return unheralded with a new login at some stage in the next few weeks/months, once I've got myself back on course. As things stand, I'm just digging myself deeper and deeper into a shitheap of internet obsession, ill-feeling and pointless waste of all the opportunities I have. I need to start reading books again, go for runs in the morning, write creatively rather than destructively.

you know, this isn't meant to be mean, whatsoever, call it tough love maybe - lj, i think that you really need to start taking some lumps/responsibility for this stuff. i mean, you've been googleproofed, you've been ytmnd'd, and getting us to ban you instead of just learning to exert some self-control doesn't seem to be the solution to your difficulties. you are capable of not pissing people off, but your most recent incarnation seems hell bent on trading old vulnerable LJ for new improved LBZC lapdog zingmaster LJ.

maybe just try posting for a while without some arch internet persona, and see how it goes for you.

obv if other mods feel differently, im not opposed to your request, i just think it wont help break the same cycle you seem to tend to go through.

I agree with John here, I don't think permabanning your login is going to make the slightest bit of difference in the long run, you still looked at ILX virtually every single day of your last requested ban and could well do the same this time.

If you're going to return with a new login and then persist in not thinking before you hit submit, you're going to do so regardless. TBH I'd recommend giving yourself a break through good old-fashioned self-control, and maybe exercising that self-control a bit more when you get back.

JJ and Matt OTM. I really do think you're capable of getting a grip on your ILXing. Go read that book and have that run. The liberating part will be in not telling anybody/everybody that you've done so afterwards.

The problem with permabanning yr login is that you != yr login. People attach their opinions to you, not yr nick.

fair enough everyone! i think the melodramatics are probably the direct result of being in a mental rut, one which a bit of proactiveness will easily smooth over. just gotta keep myself busy tbh

There needs to be a new board, "ILX Anonymous", where people can talk through their issues in a naked and bare way, where their post name is assigned to them in the format "Anonymous_1"

if you're asking in public to be banned then anonymity is kinda pointless as the admins may find it hard to answer without it being obvious who the person is, or everyone else will jump in wanting to know who it is anyway etc. you could of course just send a private msg
