weird EMAIL snafu wrt starting threads

i started this thread:

german hip-hop, neo-nazis, misogyny, etc. in the new york times

earlier today, didn't click the "send responses by email" box. posting to it just now (on whether or not the handsome nabisco looks like tupac - he doesn't), i got a "email has been sent" message. now i'm not worried since i don't use the NOSPAMyahoo.com domain (if there is one?) but it may be indicative of further weirdness in the future and i thought responsible parties should know. thanks for your time.

no, at the bottom of the page there is a 'subscribe' link and anyone can use it to subscribe to a thread via email.

ok, i thought for some reason that it would only show up as that if the thread was started with email responses, not just if someone subscribed to the thread. never mind.
