I am going to see them tonight .. are Smegma and Rubber O Cement missable? I've heard good things about them but I'm tired and don't want to be at this club for 5 hours.

Smegma are veteran Portland, OR noize dudez that Wolf Eyes have worshipped at the temple of since young noize dude days. John O. is a huge fan, I met him they day after the first Wolf Eyes/Smegma collab.

Rubber O Cement is Grux's (Caroliner) other band. Last time I saw them they were out of their element (NYC, 3/04, No Fun Fest) Tony Conrad was standing in front of me (and littlest ND Ian Johnson) and he looked at us and just scoffed and walked around me. I ROFLLE'd.

the drummer is really great but the rest is kind of boring and generic on the whole, i think. it just sounds like pastiche to me. a lot of that is probably due to them being on this bill with these bands though. i wanted noise.
