scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 29 November 2004 03:02 (twenty-one years ago)

(yoo know who loves michael franks? me, my dad, and harcore gangstas. if yoo wanna be hip like me-drop the steely dan shit, that shit is played out-MF like a muthafucka. i'm telling yoo yoo will be too cool for school with some of his rekkerds under yer arm.)

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 29 November 2004 03:04 (twenty-one years ago)

OMG! I Just Spent 5 Hours LIstening To Baltimore Basement Prog Weirdos *HEAVY THE WORLD*

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 29 November 2004 03:23 (twenty-one years ago)

dood, how iz that Point Blank record?? I only have the 1st one, one of the two great 70s hard rock records where your looking down the barrel of a gun, sun of a gun, sunovabitch, gettin' paid, gettin' rich (the 1st Band rekkid is of course the other.)

and OMG Scott yew did not already haf the two Burrito Bros rekkids? Turn in your nudie suit at once!!

I love that Pascoal record. It is more fun than a barrel full of monkeys (more like a barrel of pigs, since that what Pascoal "plays" on the 2nd track.) I just saw him a few weeks ago in Chicago. He was great, the band and the moosick were wonderful. He's a real character.

(1st BANG record, that is)

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 29 November 2004 03:55 (twenty-one years ago)

yoo should post on rockistman's pascoal thread cuz he was crying that nobody would tell him nothin' bout him. the 2nd Point Blank is not as good as the first, but worth a dollar or two for the boogie. and the burritos...hmmmmm,well, what can i say? i'm trying to embrace my inner byrdz fan or something and i've been coming across really swell copies of this stuff. my brother had all their records when i was growing up, maybe i was just being passive-aggressive. still not joining no parsons cult though. not indispensible stuff if you ask me. but those 2 records are worth a listen or 2.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 29 November 2004 04:02 (twenty-one years ago)

no, I agree, I'm no Parsons cultist. I'm more of a McGuinn cultist, if anything. Actually, I'm more of a "Draft Morning" cultist. Or a Clarence White cultist. Or more of a crazy-sustained-guitar-tone-on-the-solo-from-"Change Is Now" cultist. Notorious Byrd Brothers is probably the most beautiful album ever made. I highly recommend listening to it while driving up in the rocky mountains. it's a Rocky Mountain high!

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 29 November 2004 04:10 (twenty-one years ago)

dude, i don't know any of those rekkerds...!

but i did get the chris harwood reissue and six organs of admittance new one. both are ace.

doomie the saint (jimmy the sainted kid of death), Monday, 29 November 2004 09:36 (twenty-one years ago)

i got a coven lp the other day also, but i havent played it yet

*@*.* (gareth), Monday, 29 November 2004 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

that nick haeffner album is cool. it's on bam caruso. gareth, i can't believe you or doomie don't own a copy. i tried looking it up on der google, but didn't find much. one page said it came out in 1972, but i don't believe that. it has to be from the 80's. if it is from 1972 then nick had a time machine. cool folk-psych indie stuff.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 29 November 2004 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

not really on topic but scott seward i bought divine styler spiral walls containg autumn light. i think i remember you talking about that on ilm. i don't know if i like it yet or not. may need drugs to decide, but it was only 99cents at the pawn shoppe.

artdamages (artdamages), Monday, 29 November 2004 17:28 (twenty-one years ago)

kool, chris. ya, divine's album is in my toptenofalltime fer sure. i've played it 666 times. i own 7 copies just in case i meet up with someone who can handle his lyrical fathoms. you have to listen more than once though or, um, i don't know what happens, but listen to it more.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 29 November 2004 17:50 (twenty-one years ago)

i will. it does intrigue. sounded amazingly good sobering up at 2 in the morning eating onion rings in the minivan. then not as good the next afternoon.

i've been meaning to pick up a load of LTMstuffs including some the Passage (great thread over at ilm), but i bought about 30 cds/tapes/lps this weekend. oh, the fetishism of commodities.

artdamages (artdamages), Monday, 29 November 2004 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

why did scott seward not buy squirrel and g-man, and bummed, as promised?

*@*.* (gareth), Monday, 29 November 2004 19:08 (twenty-one years ago)
