I just took a pull tonight after my six-pack ran out, as a matter of fact.

oh, hey Jack! No worries, man - I meant to apologize to you for taking so damn long with that trade. Glad you liked the discs - I thought you might like that SCG show as it was a good one. Unfortunately, the recording quality starts off really good but starts to deteriorate midway through. I've heard other copies of it and they all have that, so I think it was a problem with the original recording. Also, I think that tracklisting is wrong, and the guy put track breaks in the wrong places. But whatever.

I LOVED the mix. In fact I had a bunch of questions I wanted to ask you about it, but I'm just notoriously slow and bad when it comes to email correspondence. I think I'll listen to it again today.

Monetizing Eyeballs (diamond), Saturday, 14 August 2004 17:37 (twenty-one years ago)

ah man, I still would like a copy of that SCG show. What was the Liquid Liquid thing?

hstencil (hstencil), Saturday, 14 August 2004 17:44 (twenty-one years ago)

btw jack cole I found the Grotto of Miracles/Kaliflower CDr I made for you. Still want it?

hstencil (hstencil), Saturday, 14 August 2004 17:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Aw Stence, I told you I'd send you a copy! Just email me your address. Although as indicated, it might take me a couple weeks because I'm bad and lazy, but rest assured it will eventually get there! (the Liquid Liquid thing was just a burn of the old Grand Royal CD compilation)

Monetizing Eyeballs (diamond), Saturday, 14 August 2004 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

yes h -- but most importantly, the Shadow Ring cd-r!!!! did you get the hooker cd?

also, eyeballs, glad you liked the mix -- the SCG live was satisfying, giving me an audio token to remind me of the portland show. fire away any questions you have.

jack cole (jackcole), Saturday, 14 August 2004 21:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I can find that, if not can re-burn. Got the Hooker CD, review to commence shortly (been kinda on summer hiatus).

hstencil (hstencil), Saturday, 14 August 2004 21:36 (twenty-one years ago)

nah, i aint be that active the last few either so i cant throw rocks at you.

jack cole (jackcole), Saturday, 14 August 2004 21:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I remember my boy Chris once back in the day telling me that you could find these things called 'yukka plants'(sp?) that grew in suburbia all over the place and take the big bottom leaves and cut them off and squeeze the goo from inside into your mouth and eat it and it would ferment in your stomach and get you mad crazy drunk, but the only time I ever tried it, we were already way drunk (riding around in a Buick skylark in neighborhoodtopia at like 3 am) and so I wasn't sure if it had worked or not. I was all itchy the next day too.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Saturday, 14 August 2004 22:15 (twenty-one years ago)

the liquid liquid tracks to have (cavern, optimo, scraper) are all on the first record, i can gmail these.

i'm still coming down from my sparks high. where is jingleberries?

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 16 August 2004 04:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I've rolled a joint with weed and TEA from a TEA BAG when I didn't have any tobacco. It sucked.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 16 August 2004 05:24 (twenty-one years ago)

WHY DO YOU NEED TEA OR TOBACCO

dean? (deangulberry), Monday, 16 August 2004 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't smoke any more spliffs. Tobacco totally ruins it.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 16 August 2004 15:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I would love to! I was just talking to my playwright friend about maybe coming up there and staying with him for a bit this fall.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 16 August 2004 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

LET ME KNOW

Ian c=====8 (orion), Monday, 16 August 2004 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

six years pass...

fuck this california shit. bums me out. total couchlock. can't even get up to change the channel. like the weed equivalent of some big fat stag's leap cab or something. maybe this fits the cali lifestyle, but i've got laundry to fold! and dishes to wash! plus, i swear, totally gave me the spins. and i wasn't even drinking. i'm sticking with the local greenery from now on. some people dig the indica experience. i need something peppier and fizzier. probably why i just drink tart and bracing italian red wines.

scott seward, Wednesday, 10 November 2010 19:08 (fifteen years ago)

Smoking chamomille tea.

kkvgz, Wednesday, 10 November 2010 21:57 (fifteen years ago)

scott, it's not as if indica is the only thing we grow here. I otherwise totally agree.

Oh do come to the mod illuminati conclave chez (Michael White), Wednesday, 10 November 2010 22:15 (fifteen years ago)

Mix the indica and sativa sometimes it can be a+

Aerosol, Wednesday, 10 November 2010 22:27 (fifteen years ago)

"scott, it's not as if indica is the only thing we grow here."

oh i know. no disrespect intended. just bummed cuz it wasn't cheap and i was perfectly happy with the homegrown i was getting. (maria didn't even know what it was and took one whiff and said "smells like humboldt". a child of hippies doesn't fall far from the tree. or plant. or something.)

scott seward, Wednesday, 10 November 2010 22:49 (fifteen years ago)

I know what you mean about couchlock. I can't really smoke indica anymore w/o tobacco and I take little pleasure (short of some kinds of music) from being a legless, brainless idiot who ends up watching TV I would otherwise never do. I like to do stuff when I smoke, chores or go for a walk or something.

Oh do come to the mod illuminati conclave chez (Michael White), Wednesday, 10 November 2010 23:14 (fifteen years ago)

you guys who don't like the occasional couchlock are confusing to me

honkin' on joey kramer (underrated aerosmith bootlegs I have owned), Thursday, 11 November 2010 00:16 (fifteen years ago)

i've got nothing against strong stuff in general. or of being transfixed and lost in an alternate universe while on the bed or couch. but, man, some stuff is just serious dumbass catatonia zombieland stuff and i don't dig it. everyone is different though.

plus, big time weedover from this stuff. felt like crap all day today. and, um, yesterday. but now i'm done with it.

scott seward, Thursday, 11 November 2010 00:20 (fifteen years ago)

mostly i just like to relax at night and watch my stories on the teevee or play my boogie rock records or talk to my gal and then call it a night and not be way wasted. getting wasted is what booze is for!

scott seward, Thursday, 11 November 2010 00:24 (fifteen years ago)

last week my friend had some shit that made me walk around his apt for an hour and open all of his cabinets and everything, halfheartedly leafing through all of his shit, while he kind of sat there going "what....what are you doing"

puff puff post (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Thursday, 11 November 2010 00:42 (fifteen years ago)

I think I wanted a glass of water but I dont know

puff puff post (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Thursday, 11 November 2010 00:42 (fifteen years ago)

okay, i lied...i'm so weak. i think the whole "less is more" approach works best with this stuff. still has a weird head though. so thirsty.

i swear now that i have fixed my sleeping problem when i smoke some stuff i feel like i'm on meth. i never want to go to sleep. its crazy. i kinda like it though. i'm not used to wanting to stay up late. or even having the stamina to stay up late. like when i was younger! god bless sleep science.

the reason i started on the green stuff since we moved (didn't really touch it much on the island.) is cuz i just don't have the time to be hungover a lot of the time. sad, i know. i love booze. but i got things to do. and, um, kids to raise. i'm too busy to feel crappy.
