Allyzay Rofflesberger (allyzay), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 17:33 (twenty years ago)

i was asking you, steve shasta, as lurkers don't tend to post. hence them being lurkers, and not posters.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 17:40 (twenty years ago)

that goes on the "ask steve shasta anything" thread, not the ask f. redwell thread.

Allyzay Rofflesberger (allyzay), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 17:42 (twenty years ago)

don't act all anal, dudes.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 17:47 (twenty years ago)

oh I get the yellow card? jeezus.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 17:49 (twenty years ago)

[Ally OTM.

If hstencil would bother checking the Ask Steve Shasta thread, he'd see that f.'s posted there 4 times. NOT A LURKER DUDE, YELLOWCARD ISSUED.]

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 17:49 (twenty years ago)

who the hell are you and where did you come from?

ddb (ddb), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 17:51 (twenty years ago)

f.,

Are you the same felicity who once posted about petting the forest?

workers of the world

Dupont-wise, and cheaper-wise, look into the Embassy Suites, the M Street Hotel (a Marriott), the Tabard Inn, the Kalorama Guest House, and the Woodley Park Guest House.

if you want to pay some more, the Jurys Washington and the Hotel Madera are in great locations.

that is all

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 21:42 (twenty years ago)

dearest felicity,

sorry I will not see you next weekend, or this one. Thank you for the invitation.

Let's do something this spring/summer though.

Yours fondly,

rosemary

Hi Felicity,

Are you still mad at me because of that stupid moderation argument?

Dan (;_;) Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 21:50 (twenty years ago)

oops, that Embassy Suites isn't that cheap is it

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 22:02 (twenty years ago)

dearest G,

all the B&Bs/inns (kalorama, adams) are full. I wanted to stay in Adams Morgan and heard Woodley Park is horrible. It is ok though, I believe I am hotwiring it.

eatadick.com (Carey), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 22:08 (twenty years ago)

dear everyone,

this is all my fault. i did not consider the cherry blossoms when i made these plans. i am rilly sorry about the hotel dramas :(

dear f.,

why does gabbneb know everything?!

ally

Allyzay Rofflesberger (allyzay), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 22:16 (twenty years ago)

Woodley Park is full of old people and isn't majorly urban (a first-stop inner-ring suburb of sorts), but it's just a bridge away from both A-M (walkable) and Dupont (ok Kalorama's in the way, but one metro stop), and is a perfectly nice place to hang your stuff.

the Hilton Washington and Courtyard Washington Northwest are on the border between Dupont and Adams. The Hilton is a bit of a monstrosity, but I think it's a good answer.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 22:20 (twenty years ago)

i am a douche for always waiting too long to book things.

eatadick.com (Carey), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 22:23 (twenty years ago)

f figured out very easily that gabbneb does not know everything. it is all socrates' fault.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 22:24 (twenty years ago)

make that the M Street and the Courtyard Northwest

I do not like crashing at friends if I know I will be drunktard.

eatadick.com (Carey), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 22:48 (twenty years ago)

oh there's also this place which may be less reliable than a chain but will be in a much nicer building (across street from the Hilton?). I think it maybe used to be the Swissotel?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 23:03 (twenty years ago)

this fwend is often a dwunk wetard with the wadyfwend, so it's "all good, homie."

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 23:13 (twenty years ago)

Is this the appropriate thread to talk about how my innate cheapness ALMOST caused me to book a flight home that would have left at 6:30 AM out of BWI?

Dan (Dumbass) Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 23:26 (twenty years ago)

one last one - this place up by the Hill and Union Station is marginally cheaper and metro-able to dupont in less than 1/2 hr. there are two well-known Irish bars on the block, one in the hotel.

My dear Mr. Shasta,

My favorite restaurant in Brooklyn is the 718 Diner f/k/a Miss W1ll1@msburg Diner on Kent and N. 3rd. I fantasize about the chocolate souffle.

p.s. Thank you for the thread.

Dearest ally,

Come home to NY. All is forgiven.

Fondly,

f

p.s. Please write, Marmee is worried.

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 23 March 2006 02:01 (twenty years ago)

ddb,

Thank you for writing. You and I have met. Eatadick can remind you. In fact, I can make you at 100 yards.

You also asked about my origins. May I ask if what you are really trying to ask is, "Why do your eyes look weird?" as it is so often the case.

Just kidding!

With friendship,

f. redwell, Esq.

I'm afraid I do not remember what this was about. I am quite sure I am not angry with you.

dear ally,

gabbnebb knows everything because he applied himself assidiously in his higher education and then worked his fucking ass off for many years at a sweatshop, using his free time to trade info online.

That is all.

Dear account settings,

ha ha! Thank you for your interest!

My feeling is that expandable envelopes are the tools of ignorance, like those of Mike Piazza, San Diego catcher (is he straight or is he gay?).

dear f. redwell,

did i ever tell you about the time i watched "panda cam" for like 1 hour straight because i was so bored at work? it didn't do much, and then they zoomed in on an extreme close up of baby panda POOPING. yuck. if the baby panda does this during your "panda package," will you think of me now?

Dear Stormy,

Maybe after one of the the South Side Interleague games May 20 or 21? Hang in there! You've got a pennant race to choke on. Ha ha. Just kidding!

Greetings gbnbe,

You shouldn't. Visit the Fauchon on Park and 56th in good old USA, this way your tax dollars go to our nation's public roads and schools rather than to Banc Paribas. I recommend the little pink meringues.

If you find yourself in Paris through no fault of your own, I recommend

1. the record counter at colette
2. Cluny Museum

http://www.ushistoricalarchive.com/photochroms/ppmsc/05172r.jpg

3. very cheap and convenient Hotel de Nesle in the sixth, and
4. some comfy kicks

a tres tot,

Dear concerned in athens,

How nice to hear from you!

Yes. Yes, it is.

Looking forward to it,

f

felicity (felicity), Friday, 24 March 2006 08:43 (twenty years ago)

Dear the future Mrs. M,

No, you never told me that! You are like the mother panda in the article I sent my mom that the zoo showed Panda Mom TV videos for a few months while she was pregnant so she would know what to do with the panda baby when it was born (they are raised in captivity and have to be taught).

Yes, I will think of you if the baby panda poops and I will take a photo. Maybe you can use it in your thank you cards. ha ha!

xo,

f

p.s Is its name Butters or something? T says he would be more "into" it if it were Butters from South Park rather than a baby panda.

felicity (felicity), Friday, 24 March 2006 08:52 (twenty years ago)

dear j.,

It feels like that painful night on October 15, 2003 when the Florida Marlins clinched the pennant at Wrigley Field, the memory that sticks with us, and will continue to stick with us.
