soon as i get to brozeman, i'm going to go the co-op, get some fresh bread, some delicious cheese, and a bottle of wine, and go bike to a sunny meadow and CHILL. Just like that dude in the logo would.

gbx (skowly), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 15:44 (twenty years ago)

I KNEW this thread needed some gbx bike + cheese love.

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 15:47 (twenty years ago)

THE GUY IN THE LOGO IS NEVER GONNA GET SKINNY, EATING ALL THAT CHEESE AND RIDING SUCH A SMALL CHAINRING.

ddb (ddb), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 15:52 (twenty years ago)

Nuh UH, I bike/work out so that I CAN eat cheese, and if that means remaining more or less the same size, I can live with it.

Isn't "Saxelby" kind of a dumb name, though?

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 15:57 (twenty years ago)

that IS a pussy chainring...maybe he's one of those freaky German dudes that do the bike ballet in that video.

gbx (skowly), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 15:59 (twenty years ago)

i should specify i need mother culture, not hardware and not for beer and i like patronizing the locals...and shopping in person. evidently the answer is no.

its the dude's name, laurel. he might of let his ego go and come up with something...more and less cheesy.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 16:06 (twenty years ago)

you know, like RUSSIA

gbx (skowly), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 16:07 (twenty years ago)

i was gonna say, my mom ain't got culture, she likes norah jones and mystery novels.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 16:08 (twenty years ago)

its the bacterial culture you need to get things moving.

ok brian, you get a gold star for todays class. but you still have some problems.

bb (bbrz), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 16:12 (twenty years ago)

I mean, Saxelby is kind of an awesome surname for its sheer NORSENESS in so many ways. But in the context of an artisanal cheese shop for aging/gentrifying hipsters it's just...painfully pointedly "mighty Albion" etc.

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 16:13 (twenty years ago)

BREWING BEER, SEEMS LIKE A HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS...MY FRIEND DID IT WITH RADICAL RESULTS....IT JUST SEEMS SOOOOO TEDIOUS.

LEMME KNOW WHEN YR DONE BEN...IM THIRSTY

ddb (ddb), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 16:15 (twenty years ago)

its also all about american cheeses...so perhaps he could have done something that might convey that...norse name and bicycle dont quite scream "i love guns and freedom". (laurel)

IM NOT MAKING BEER, BRIAN. IM MAKING VINEGAR. YOU CAN DRINK IT IN A FEW MONTHS IF YR STILL THIRSTY THEN...THOUGH...

bb (bbrz), Tuesday, 18 April 2006 16:18 (twenty years ago)
