quick update
Current mood: enthralled

Ok, I got back from Korea, then went to Hong Kong, then it was Chinese New Year, next I'm off to Bangkok (I might go to phuket, but naaa... phuk it) and then in March to Burma/Myanmar.

One event in more detail:

I went to Pingxi a small town for lantern festival last week and have concluded that pyromania runs in the blood of the locals here. Basically a lantern is probably not the best English translation of what they have at the latern festival. A more accurate one is flaming ball of fire. And not only do they have flaming balls of fire, they have fireworks .... attached .... to the underside .... of the flaming balls of fire .... aimed at the crowd. And this is no ordinary American-style crowd. Its form by a lack of crowd control. The roads (or rather single road/intersection, this really was a small town.) are totally full of people and so is the train track.

So a couple times during the night of walking around (or wading throught the river of people) We (Megan, I and 2 other friends) had to jump away from massive roman candles, shrapnel-like spark spray, overhead flaming trees, and even dodge a few of the big ones that make the really big BOOM (like 4th of july/new years style).

My conclusion: Delaware's firework laws suck! and because of it I feel I missed a significant part of my childhood.
