I'm not sure if they archive the fill-ins, but I think so...
I will be playing noise, hippies, and techno.

Hello my loverboys. You are probably back home in NY until you take off for Europe. You guys fucking rock and I love you. I never listened to you guys before going to the Cure concert last week. My life has not been the same since seeing you live. Can't wait for the new album to come out and I can't wait to see you guys live again.

Kenny had an accident with his soprano saxaphone, pointed it in the wrong direction, now this kid gets to come to all his concerts.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 21:39 (twenty-one years ago)

We should get Kenny G to come to the Noize Board.

crap, what did he say was before canned heat?

brock (brock), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 19:57 (twenty-one years ago)

this is good, but i want to know what the songs were and it doesn't seem like i ever will.

artdamages (artdamages), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 20:17 (twenty-one years ago)

wfmu has an automatic system where you can update the playlist while djing, or add it in later. Don't know if they walk guest DJs through it or what.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 20:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I will post a playlist a little bit later..!

Russ (Russ), Thursday, 2 September 2004 01:34 (twenty-one years ago)

i did hear you say it was Van Der Graf Generator, whom I've never heard. I've been really into Peter Hammil's Nadir's Big Chance which is usually considered a unique album, but I knew I must like some other stuff by him, considering how good that record is.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Thursday, 2 September 2004 02:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Dan - honestly, the song I played today is the only great song on the one Van Der Graff record I own.

"stoked" !

Russ (Russ), Thursday, 2 September 2004 04:25 (twenty-one years ago)

nice show, russ.

jack cole (jackcole), Thursday, 2 September 2004 04:29 (twenty-one years ago)

The 1st VdGG LP is great!! That's the only one I know really well -- I was just listening to it last weekend, in fact. I have a couple later lps but I never spin them. The first one isn't really hyperprogged-out, it's kinda ... fuck I dunno. Real dramatic english art school stuff. It's awesome. Hammill is such a great singer. I'm gonna stream your show now, Russ...

Monetizing Eyeballs (diamond), Thursday, 2 September 2004 04:35 (twenty-one years ago)

have you listened to Hammill's solo record Nadir's Big Chance? He wanted to cut a record really fast with stupid songs making fun of Glam/Glitter Rock and instead he went off and cut the first New Wave record...maybe. Either way, it's brilliant and while it's definitely not the kinda pre-punk I want it to be(and some say it is) it's not too far from Eno/Roxy Music kind of art-glam. Hell, there was an entire thread on ILM I started about this.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Thursday, 2 September 2004 17:14 (twenty-one years ago)

No, Dan, don't know it - sounds great though! I've never heard any of the records released under just his name. But I want to. I'm off to check out that thread ...

Reed Moore (diamond), Thursday, 2 September 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Smart art-glam suggestions?

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Thursday, 2 September 2004 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh ok - yeah I remember that thread. I even contributed to it! I guess I didn't remember your mention of the Hammill lp though -- will definitely keep an eye out for it.

Reed Moore (diamond), Thursday, 2 September 2004 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, this is great.
