In the last 3 years, we've now seen no shortage of shitty rip-offs of Rockstar's flagship franchise. Are any of these worthwhile?

The best was probably the Simpsons one.

Destroy with guns : True Crime. Not exactly like a GTA game but it was deffo giving it a shot, with the huge game area of the city and the in between missions roam around. But it was awful, the amount of times it crashed on me for a start. And if you veered too far off the road it would reset you back on the pavement, wtf?

And you could you tell one building apart from the other? could you balls.

s: the upcoming neversoft "gta goes to the wild west" game, GUN. it is apparently going to be very very good.

Spiderman 2 did a fairly good job of taking GTA's structure and making its own game out of it. More people could do things like that.

driver was pretty good.

rio natsume, Thursday, 29 September 2005 13:51 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but the first Driver predates GTA3...but not the first two.

i played jak 3 for about two minutes and felt that it was a gta clone. is this right?

Allen E. Riley (allenriley), Monday, 3 October 2005 03:20 (twenty years ago)

yeah, jak 2 and 3 both have strong gta influence, although it isn't all-encompassing.
