I originally found out about KoL through the ILE thread, but since there didn't seem to be a thread about it here I thought I'd toss this in. I like it a lot, though the novelty of it has largely worn off for me. During the summer, I started playing it after almost a year, since at that point they hadn't finished the game yet. Now you can beat the game and start over and go to new areas and stuff, but after a while it does get kind of repetitive. Then again, I suppose it's only as repetitive as you let it be, since there are tons of little secrets hidden throughout it, and those are what keep me coming back. So, hell, I'll say Classic.

The radio station's god-awful, though.

For the summer that I played it, totally awesome. Alcohol-influenced turns + meat-based economy = CLASSIC

P.S. LOL AT FAMILY FRIENDLY REVIEW OF KOL: "Besides the major role alcohol plays in the game's scenarios, you may be reviled by some of the violence and language: 'In the Haunted Pantry, you're attacked by a fiendish can of asparagus. Cans of asparagus aren't normally all that scary, but this one's got a knife!'"

You know, I never played this game for some reason. I've just started, and it is pretty fantastic. I like way you get a whole bunch of turns, and can do a lot of things that don't use up turns. On other games like it I've had to use multiple characters in order to kill as much time as I'd wish.

five years pass...

so... after doing 4 ascensions in 2009 (3 HC ones), and not playing since, i booted this back up recently. it seems like they've added seasonal special runs? so now i'm doing this Boris HC run and it's actually pretty fun. anyone else on ilx playing this these days?
