Just ask him, that's all. About going out for coffee, that is. With my gay male friends, they always go direct when they're interested in someone, saying that it cuts through all the bull shit.

If he's interested in YOU, but with a partner, then he'll say so. If he's still interested in you, potentially, he'll accept.

If he's straight, he'll hem and haw and come up with some excuse.
